NEWPORT NEWS, Conn.
— The median home price in the Northeast fell by $203,000 last year, according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The median price of a home in New Hampshire dropped $197,000, the most in the country.
The data showed median home prices in the nation’s largest metros are down by nearly $200 million in 2016.
The average price of New Hampshire homes fell by more than $1,000.
The median price in Connecticut dropped by more $1.50, according the Census Bureau data.
The price of homes in Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut are up by about $150 million.
The average price in those states is up $300,000 from the year before.
Home prices in Connecticut were the second highest in the state in 2016, according in the Census.
The state has lost more than 200,000 homes since the end of last year.
