The report shows that the average smartphone user spends $5,566 a year on mobile data.
In fact, the average iPhone user spends just over $1,400 a year, which is only a fifth of the average consumer spending on mobile services.
In terms of the apps they use to access the data, the most popular apps are Instagram and Facebook, followed by Snapchat and YouTube.
But while users spend more on mobile apps than ever, they spend less than ever on apps that provide the kind of data that are crucial to their lives.
